Hydraulic Well Cleaning Tool (HWCT)
The Hydraulic Well Cleaning Tool (HWCT) is designed for cleaning oil, gas, and geological exploration wells with low formation pressure from clay-based mud, sludge, sand, scale, and small debris. It is also used to clean wellbores obstructed by proppant plugs following hydraulic fracturing without requiring circulation or washing.
The HWCT operates on the principle of differential pressure between the wellbore fluid and a static chamber.
Operating procedure:
- Install the required number of shear pins in the tool body;
- Prepare the tubing string of the required length;
- Assemble the Hydraulic Well Cleaning Tool (HWCT) and run it downhole;
- Slack off the drill string to apply the shear load of 3-5 tons to shear pins;
- Start the HWCT and operate it for 5–10 minutes;
- Repeat the slacking off cycles by 1-2 tons until the tool operation is completed;
- Pull the tool out of the hole to surface;
- Break out the HWCT.
