Ball Check Valve (BCV)
The production pressure valve is designed for pressure testing of tubing or drill pipe strings in the wellbore to ensure integrity of drill pipes.
Design features and operating principle:
Pressure testing is performed using a pressure-testing body and a tapered sealing sleeve, by gradually increasing internal overpressure inside the string. After the pressure-testing body is run to the required depth, the tapered sleeve is dropped into the drill or tubing string. It descends under its own weight until it lands in the valve body. As fluid is pumped into the string and internal pressure rises, the tapered sleeve seals against its seat, isolating the lower section and enabling the string to be pressure-tested. The cone sleeve is retrieved by reverse circulation to surface and caught using a dedicated collet-type catcher.
