Tubing Safety Joint (TSJ)
The tubing safety subs are designed to facilitate quick and easy disconnection from stuck tools or tubing during tripping operations without rotating the string.
DESIGN FEATURES
The Safety Joint is a is a pup joint manufactured from high-strength alloy steel. The tubing safety joint is a pup joint manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and consists of two components - the sub and the body - joined by a left-hand tubing thread. The upper end features a right-hand box tubing thread, while the lower end is equipped with a right-hand pin tubing thread.
The safety joint features a circulation bore for circulation of drilling fluid.
When disconnection from stuck tubing in the wellbore is required, the safe sub is unscrewed by clockwise rotation. The disconnected tubing string is then retrieved to surface.
